The East team retained the Trophy when they met the West at Bothwell Castle on Sunday 10th May 2015.

The East Lothian girls who took part were Joanne Free (Gullane Ladies), Lauren Lee (Musselburgh) and Catherine Milne (North Berwick) so we were well represented. Indeed Annabel Hosie was also selected but had to withdraw with an injured wrist.

They played in breezy and showery conditions at the start of their round but happily the conditions improved as the day went on. Our girls all played well with Catherine putting up a strong fight after going 3 down early on.

East of Scotland Girls' Spring Meeting

The East of Scotland Girls' Spring Meeting was held at Ratho Park on the 19th April 2015

Catherine Milne was the only East Lothian girl taking part in a field of 16 in the competition. Catherine did well. She came in 7th with  84 - 12 = 72

The overall Prize went to Caitlin Turner (Barberton) 91 - 24 = 67 and the Scratch Prize went to  Andrea Walker (Glenbervie) 76

We hope that East Lothian girls will be well represented in team for  the Annual East v West Match. The team will be announced soon.

Well, it was wet, misty and there were no views of the Ochils when we played against Midlothian for the morning rounds. The balls did not run, some were plugged, some found wet sand in the bunkers but our girls came away with a win in 3 out of 4 matches

The final was between East Lothian and Fife. The sun shone, the snow capped Ochils looked majestic and the conditions could not have been more different. There was a bit of wind and some of the holes played very long indeed.

The Fife reserve, Eildih Henderson, a very promising 11 year old, was called in to replace the injured Evanna Hynd who jarred her shoulder playing a shot in the morning round.

Our girls did us proud and they all went into early leads and were never behind in any of the matches.

Foursomes were played by the two losing teams from the morning rounds. Midlothian came home with a 2-0 win. The second match finished on the 18^th.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the girls. All the matches were played in great spirits and I was especially impressed with the sportsmanship shown by all the players and supporters of all the competing teams. The good shots were applauded and appreciated by parents and officials regardless of their allegiance.

Change to Junior Fixture List

There is a change to the 2015 fixtures for the date of the Summer Meeting.

It was previously booked for Monday 6th July 2015 at Gifford GC. Unfortunately this  date clashes with the East of Scotland Summer Meeting and Championship which is on the same day and we hope that you might want to play in both.

Therefore, we have moved the ELLCGA’s Summer meeting at Gifford GC to Monday 20th July 2015.

 

Cuthbertson Cup 2015 - Junior Team Event

The Junior Team event against Midlothian, Fife and Stirling & Clackmannan takes place this year at Glenbervie Golf Club on Sunday 12th April 2015.

East Lothian will be defending their title and if anyone has the time to come and watch we are sure you will be rewarded by some exciting golf.

Scottish Junior Champion of Champions 2014

Congratulations to Joanne Free (Gullane Ladies) who carded a level par 71 to take the girls title at the Dukes Course in St Andrews yesterday. There were 10 girls who competed for the title who qualified from various parts of Scotland. Joanne won by 2 shots from Ellie Bryce, Strathaven GC.

Junior Autumn Meeting

 

The Junior Autumn Meeting was held at The North Berwick Golf Club on the 7th September on what was a sunny day but with a cool breeze. There was a disappointing turnout but Joanne Free was a deserving winner with a net 67.
