On a clear fresh sunny Sunday afternoon, the team of Moira Thomson, Lesley Atkins, Mary Lou Renton, Clara Young, Morag MacPherson, Susan Penman, Claire McLoughlin, Keren Ward, Jane Herd and Liz Dunn Butler took on a team from the mens section of Gullane Golf Club.
After some careful negotiation in regard to strokes with the Gullane Team Captain, Jeff Aitken the match took place over Gullane 1.
I am delighted to report that ELLCGA won the match 3-2, and the Percy Vere Trophy is back in the hands of the ladies - it has been some time!
A huge thank you to Gullane Golf Club for their hospitality, and to Jeff Aitken for all his organisation of this event. This is now a firm fixture in our calendar and a match that is looked forward to every year.
