Junior's Summer Meeting

The Summer Meeting was held at Gifford in extremely testing conditions. While it stayed dry there was a very strong breeze. Well done girls!

East Division Inter County Matches

Now the games are over and before the dust has settled on this year's matches it is time to thank the Captain, Vice Captain, Secretary, Treasurer and last but not least our team for all their hard work and giving up their time to take part in the event. It is a big commitment of time and energy, 6 rounds in three days plus a practice round. Not all the players played all 6 matches but all the the members of the team not playing along with Dawn, Barbara, Gwen and Liz were all out walking round the course. Well done every one.

Thank you also to all those who turned out to support the team and to trolley pull. We look forward to seeing you all again at North Berwick next year and since it is on our home patch we hope that many more of you will turn out to watch good golf and support your team.

East Division Regional Medal Final

The East Division Regional Medal Final was played at Kirkcaldy Golf Club on Thursday 27th June 2013, with 90 ladies competing for the chance to reach the Grand Final at King James VI in September.  Conditions were overcast and damp as the first groups got underway and the scoring was proving difficult but as the weather improved so did the scoring.  The best score of the day came from Vivien Mitchell (Lochend) with a net 66 who qualifies from the bronze division, the best Silver division score came from the Lauren Lee (Musselburgh) with a net 72.

Summer Meeting Results

CSS for the day was 68.

56 ladies participated today in the Summer Meeting at Winterfield in relatively good but breezy conditions. The course was yielding lots of run but not always to the right places for some! With small and fast greens the putting was proving to be tricky. Needless to say there were some good scores returned so the course was kind to some.

Mention must be made of the best nett score of the day, 56, returned by Anne Blundell (Musselburgh). Her super gross score of 75 was very nearly winning the Silver Scratch prize but she was pipped by Sue Penman (Gullane Ladies) with a tidy 74!

We ran a 2's sweep again which proved popular with all and with a rollover pot from the Commonwealth Spoons it was definately worth winning. There were 4 ladies who had a 2, names are listed below. Vouchers for the 2's may not be issued as quickly as normal due to the Treasurer being away with the county team next week.

Congratulations to all prize winners and thank you to the ladies who played and supported the competition.

ELLCGA - Rules

1. The name of the Club shall be "East Lothian Ladies' County Golf Association".

2. The Annual Subscription shall be at the discretion of the Committee. This becomes due on 1st January and is payable prior to 1st February. A member intending to resign her membership shall give notice to the Hon. Secretary by 30 November, failing which her subscription will be due on 1st January.

3. The Office Bearers of the Club shall consist of: A Captain, Vice-Captain, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, and a Committee of Management. The Captain and the Vice-Captain shall be elected annually. They shall be eligible for re-election for a second year. The Captain shall not be eligible for re-election to the Committee until two years have expired after her date of retirement. The Committee of Management shall consist of the Captain, Vice-Captain and four members (three to form a quorum), the Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer and Junior Secretary, ex officio. At the Annual General Meeting one member shall retire by rotation when her successor shall be appointed. Nominations for the Committee are to be submitted to the Secretary by the Autumn Meeting. Retiring members shall not be re-elected until out of office for one year. Any vacancy in the Committee after the Annual General Meeting shall be filled by the Committee. Committee members shall serve for a period of 3 years. The Hon. Secretary and the Hon. Treasurer and Junior Secretary shall be appointed annually by the Committee.

4. The Club shall have a President and a Vice-President who shall not be members of the Committee and shall serve for a period of 3 years.

5. The Annual General Meeting shall be held each year in November on an evening arranged by the Committee. Fifteen members, excluding the Committee, shall form a quorum. A Special General Meeting may be convened whenever the Committee of Management consider it necessary to do so, or by a requisition signed by at least 15 members. Fourteen days notice of the day and hour of an Annual or Special General Meeting must be given to every member of the Club. The Committee shall cause a Statement of Accounts of the Club to be submitted at the Annual General Meeting. The ordinary pecuniary concerns and running of the Club shall be in the hands of the Committee of Management. No Rules shall be altered or New Rules made except at an Annual or Special General Meeting. Members shall receive notification of any proposed alteration on the Agenda of such a Meeting.

6. The Annual Competitions of the Club shall be as follows:

Hole and Hole (on handicap), a month to be allowed for each round.

Commonwealth Spoons

Summer Meeting

Autumn Meeting

Winter Foursomes – a month to be allowed for each round.

The Committee will have the power to arrange for any other Competitions they may deem advisable. The dates of the Inter-County Matches shall be arranged by the Hon. Secretary with the Secretaries of the other Counties in the Division. The Teams for these matches shall be selected by the Captain, the Vice-Captain and one other. They shall also arrange the order in which the Team shall play.

7. The Prizes for Competition shall be decided upon by the Committee of Management.

8. Election to Membership of the Club shall be at the discretion of the Committee.

Match 1 - 09.00 - 09.20, Match 2 - 09.30 - 09.50 (10 minute intervals)

Afternoon singles

Match 1 - 13.45 - 14.22, Match 2 - 14.30 - 15.07 ( 7 and 8 minute intervals)

Directions to Glenbervie Golf Club: There is  a new slip road off the M876 which exits very close to Glenbervie.

Coming from  M9 Edinburgh area, stay on M9 past Kincardine Bridge area, KEEP LEFT and take the M876 towards Glasgow, Exit at Junction 2 signposted LARBERT ( also shows signs to the hospital ) at the exit TURN RIGHT on to the A9  towards Stirling and at the first roundabout take 2^nd exit  and you will have reached Glenbervie Golf Club . 

NOTE

- Mobile phones can only be used in locker rooms and the car park, in all other areas of the course and Clubhouse their use is prohibited.

 

- Dress Code - Glenbervie Golf Club has a strict dress code particularly in the lounge and the dining room. Smart Casual golf attire including tailored shorts are acceptable but jeans, track or leisure suits,  trainers, hats are not permitted. On the course, currently acceptable golf attire and golf shoes are required to be worn. Not permitted are track or leisure suits, football shirts, denim jeans, cargo pants or combat style trousers .
