ELLCGA SPRING MEETING ON THURSDAY 28TH APRIL2016, AT MUSSELBURGH GOLF CLUB
Today, on a very chilly day, 96 ladies braved the elements to compete in the ELLCGA Spring Meeting, which is a qualifier for the ELLCGA Championship. Our 2014 Ladies Champion Mary Lou Watkins, (Gullane Ladies) one of the early starters, had an excellent score, setting the bar for the later players. Her two under par score of 73 equaling the SSS of the course included 4 birdies, with a 2 at the 16th. Liz Dunn Butler (Gullane Ladies), our reigning champion, had an excellent 78, just pipped by Lauren Lee, our promising junior, who had an very good 77, but unfortunately has an exam on the first day of the match play and is therefore unable to compete.
Congratulations to Anne Rorrison (MGC), the leading qualifier in the Handicap Quaich. New East Lothian member Ann Wood from The Glen Golf Club had an amazing round on an unknown course of net 61 off a handicap of 29. Unfortunately she is unable to compete in the Handicap Quaich.
Musselburgh Golf Course was in excellent condition and ELLCGA was made very welcome and the catering staff were very attentive. We are very grateful to Musselburgh Golf Club for agreeing to host our Spring Meeting and Match Play competitions.
