We had 5 girls competing in this year's Spring Meeting which was played in the sunshine at Kilspindie on Sunday 24th April 2016.
All the girls could take away something positive from the day apart from enjoying the Spring conditions.
Kate Crawford having taken 3 shots off her handicap a few days earlier played a steady game within her buffer zone despite an unfortunate out of bounds at the 18th. Catherine Milne did not have one of her best days but finished with a lovely birdie at the 18th having driven the green and Ruth Kowbel after a very shaky start settled down to return a net 70 and after a stableford adjustment for handicap purposes ended with one under the CSS.
The stars of the day however were our youngest players Grace Crawford (who like her sister put her drive at the 18th out of bounds) and Emma Chapman who putted beautifully. They both shot net 64s.
Scratch winner and winner of the Draper Cup and Junior Club Champion - Grace Crawford - 80
Handicap winner and winner of the Morrison Quaich - Emma Chapman - 86 -22- 64
Joanne Watt our Vice President presented the winners with golf balls donated by The Telegraph/BWM who are running a National junior competition. This was our nominated competition and the cards will be forwarded to the organisers and the best under 14 girl nationally wins a prize and the best 8 nationally go to Portugal at the end of the season with a chaperone for a final.
