ELLCGA SPRING MEETING AND CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING
AT THE MUSSELBURGH GOLF CLUB ON THURSDAY 28 APRIL, SATURDAY 7TH AND SUNDAY 8TH MAY 2016
Ø The clubhouse will be open from 7.30 am on Thursday 28th April and 8am on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May and catering will be available from those times with last orders being 7pm.
Ø There is ample parking at the clubhouse car park but players may wish to share transport.
Ø Please arrive in good time for your tee time.
Ø Mobile phones must be switched off while on the course and are not permitted to be used in the Clubhouse.
Ø Please register as soon as you arrive. Registration will be in a small lounge on the left just inside the Clubhouse front door. As golf shoes are not permitted in the lounge area we suggest registering before unloading your car and changing your shoes. You will receive your card and be notified of any other information.
Ø There will be a 2s sweep – entry £1 – open to all players. Prize vouchers will be posted out after the event.
Ø There is a practice area to the right of the 18th fairway, plus putting area at the rear of the clubhouse.
Ø 12 Push trolleys and 3 electric trolleys will be available for hire and best to contact the Pro Shop beforehand if hiring either.
Ø There are 150 yards to front of green markers and each green has a coloured flag indicating pin position (yellow - front; red - centre and white - back). Strokesavers (priced £4) are available from the Pro Shop and of course DMDs can be used as long as they conform to the requirements laid down in the Conditions of Competition.
Ø New bunkers will be marked GUR and relief without penalty must be taken within one club length of the nearest point of relief.
Ø There is no toilet on the course.
Ø The ladies main locker room is small however the Visitors locker room with shower is being made available for our use also. We suggest bringing your own towel if you intend to shower.
Ø Please be at the tee 5 minutes before your tee time and use the clock in the pro shop for when to tee off.
Ø It is intended that play will be in twos and threes and competitors are asked to play without delay, keeping up with the match in front. Wave the match behind through if you have to search for a ball etc.
Ø On completion of play please return cards as soon as possible to the registration desk, clearly indicating whether or not you are available to play in the Championship/Handicap Quaich on Saturday 7TH May and Sunday 8th May. You may be required to play 2 rounds of matchplay in a day. Matchplay starts at 9.00 am on both Saturday and Sunday.
Ø The Committee will endeavour to inform those who have qualified but it is the player’s responsibility to check the County website www.ellgolf.co.uk, their emails and phone messages for details regarding matchplay tee times and opponents.
Ø Smart casual golf attire is acceptable in the clubhouse.
