The East of Scotland Championship was played this year at Elie Golf Club on Sunday 9th October. There were four representatives from ELLCGA - Dianne Brown, Kay Lannin, Grace Crawford and Barbara Biggart. It was a beautiful day and excellent conditions. Well done to our Junior Grace Crawford for an excellent score of 86 on a strange course and for participating in the competition. Sadly our ELLCGA team of Kay Lannin, Dianne Brown and Barbara Biggart was last in the counties but some of our members were participating in the invitational Champion of Champions at Glasgow Gailes. Well done to Joanne Free in coming 3rd in the Competition and also to Dawn Young for achieving the Order of Merit points to be invited.
Elaine Moffat (St Regulus) won the East of Scotland women's championship at Elie Golf Club with an excellent scratch round of 70.
The former Scottish women's amateur champion won by one stroke from Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) with Karen Ferguson-Snedden (Liberton) third with a 72.
The Fife county team of Elaine Moffat, Fiona Hastie and Susan Jackson won the East of Scotland Team Trophy with a total of 220, seven shots fewer than Stirling and Clackmannanshire with Midlothian (230) third and East Lothian (248) fourth.
Brogan Clark (Dunnikier) won the leading handicap award with a net 68 off seven of a handicap.
Mandy Dougal (Baberton), playing off 11, was placed second with a net 69, the same score as Lorna McKinlay, who plays off five at Dunnikier. Mandy had the better inward half.
